To commemorate the launch of W Shanghai, we took to the streets to celebrate the Pearl of the Orient.

When you think of Shanghai, you think of the food. So to celebrate the launch of W Shanghai, each W Hotel around the world staged a bold statement activation. And what better way to honor the city than with its most iconic dish, the Xiao Long Bao, loved in both the East and West?

We built a towering 6-meter-tall dumpling cart, proudly positioned in the hotel lobby. At the #YEHSHANGHAI launch party, a lighting ceremony brought the cart to life, then we rolled it out onto the streets.

To turn heads, 50 bikers followed in formation, creating a citywide spectacle. After touring the streets, the dumpling cart returned to the hotel, a fitting tribute to Shanghai’s vibrant spirit.

As the Marketing and Communications Manager at W Hotels Hong Kong, Anna was in charge of campaign conception, social management, launch party event management, KOL implementation, and press coverage.
